A FUNDraising dinner dance in aid of the Bombeiros Voluntárias de Silves, held on September 29 at Restaurant Ponte Romana in Silves, raised 1,465 euros.
The organisers, Angela and Ray, would like to thank all sponsors, including Tivoli Hotels Porto, Sofitel Hotel Porches, Bistro O Cais Silves, Restaurant O Alambique Poço Barreto, Restaurant O Leão Porches, Restaurant Fonte de Pedras São Br’as, Actual Boat Trips Lagos and Decanto Vinhos Lagoa.
Angela and Ray would also like to thank KISS FM and Oceânico for their support.
Commandant António Nunes thanked all those attending for the generous gesture. The money will go towards the 15,000 euros needed to purchase a second-hand ambulance from Germany for the station.
On Sunday, October 8 on Owen G’s regular KISS FM radio show, unique items of Geoff Capes memorabilia will be auctioned, including personalised T-shirts, a signed original pantomime poster and a Cliff Richard record album dedicated to Geoff from Cliff himself, all donated by Sally Richards and Dean McCann.

Additionally, Angela and Ray would like to thank Oceânico, the developer of the five-star Amendoeira Golf Resort in Alcantarilha, for donating funds from their John Aldridge Golf Classic on October 11 – 15.
