Portugal’s largest retail group Sonae opened a Continente Modelo supermarket last week (November 13) on Quarteira’s Avenida de Ceuta.
According to Sonae, this new 2,700sqm outlet cost €12 million and has created 117 jobs – 54 of which have given young people their first jobs.
Apart from the supermarket, the outlet also boasts a Well’s health shop and a Bom Bocado café, as well as a 380-space parking lot.
Continente Modelo is a smaller-scale chain of Sonae’s larger Continente group.
