Portugal’s consumer confidence indicator fell in August, after reaching a peak in July, and with the economic climate indicator also falling this month, the National Statistics Institute (INE) announced today. According to the results of INE’s Business and Consumer Surveys, “the consumer confidence indicator fell in August, after recording its highest value since February 2022 in the previous month.” That had followed an upward trend that began in December. The economic climate indicator, meanwhile, “fell in July and August, after stabilising in June,” INE states, noting that confidence indicators fell in all sectors – manufacturing, construction and public works, trade and services.
