Constitutional Court prepares to veto Portugal’s ‘euthanasia law’

The Constitutional Court has to ‘decide’ on the euthanasia law, passed by parliament but ‘held up’ by President Marcelo on the basis that it “uses excessively indeterminate concepts” that he feels are too vague to justify bringing a life to an end. Say reports, the majority of judges at the Constitutional Court agree with him. President Marcelo sent the proposed law for judicial ‘checking’ back in February. What is likely now is that the wording will go back to parliament for ‘reformulation’.
