STUDIES TO evaluate the necessary steps to combat and repair the effects of coastal erosion along the Ria Formosa Natural Park will be ready by he summer.
According to Environment Minister, Francisco Nunes Correia, when the studies have been completed, an action plan will be set in motion in 2008 to safeguard the beaches from Ancão to Vila Real de Santo António. Part of the plans to combat coastal erosion is likely to see demolition of some of the houses on the Barreira islands.
