An exhibition including works by several prominent Indian artists will be officially launched tomorrow (March 31) at Conrad Algarve in Quinta do Lago, in the presence of Indian Ambassador Jitendra Nath Misra.
Entitled ‘Spirit of India’, the art display aims to “celebrate the culture and art of India in the contemporary setting of Conrad Algarve”.
It features works by Sohan Jakhar, Vinita Dasgupta, Ramesh Gorjala, Shovin Bhattacharjee, Narendar Reddy, Ramesh Nambiar and Anu Nadimpalli, and will remain at Conrad until the end of May.
Organiser ArtCatto says the “seven artists featured in the exhibition exemplify a wide range of diversity in artistic style, media and inspiration.
“For example, Ramesh Gorjala uses an intricate mixed media technique to depict figures from India mythology, while photographer and travel writer Anu Nadimpalli captures harmonies and counterpoints through an architectural lens,” the art gallery says.
Admission to the launch of the exhibition, which begins at 7.30pm, is free.
