Quinta do Lago’s Conrad Algarve Hotel is the setting for the 12th episode of Portugal’s MasterChef cooking show, to air on TVI on Saturday (May 16) at 10.45pm.
The show was filmed at the hotel’s luxury restaurant Gusto By Heinz Beck and will feature seven contestants trying to match the dishes of Michelin-starred Chef Heinz Beck.
“It will be a huge challenge because they will assume the role of fine-dining Chefs,” said the executive producer of the show Joana Sousa.
At the end of the episode, one of the contestants will be eliminated.
The jury includes the usual judges – Manuel Luís Goucha, Rui Paula and Miguel Rocha Vieira – as well as Chef Heinz Beck himself.
Joana Sousa explained that the MasterChef team wanted to show a world beyond Lisbon and Porto.
“We wanted to decentralise and film it all around the country, as it is a way of promoting Portugal’s many regions,” she added.
