Confusion over bus terminal

Many people are still trying to access the old bus terminal at Arco do Cego, despite the fact that the doors have now been closed for three weeks. When they do so, they find a notice posted on the entrance, together with a map, redirecting them to the new bus terminal, which is situated in Sete Rios near the Zoological Garden.

The new Lisbon bus terminal, which sees 200 vehicles and thousands of passengers pass through each day, has drawn criticism from taxi drivers. “The main problem with this new station is that taxis cannot get near the place,” said Florêncio Almeida from Antral, the National Taxi Association. A taxi driver said the new bus terminal had made his life harder. “It may be better for the passengers because they have more buses, but for us it is more complicated.”
