Bishop David Hamid from the Diocese of Gibraltar, of which St Vincents is a part, was at Luz Church on Sunday to licence Fiona Mayes as a lay reader and to confirm three members of the congregation Sue Gardiner, Norman Newbigging and Hywel Hughes.
After signing the licence, a blessing by the Bishop was followed by Bible readings, hymns and prayers.
After a Sermon by Father David, Sue, Norman and Hywel were called forward for the Liturgy of Initiation. Giving positive answers to questions about their beliefs and continued faith in Christ, a cross of Holy Water was made on each forehead.
