Conference marks World Parkinson’s Day

MONDAY, April 11 has been declared World Parkinson’s Day. The illness, characterised by involuntary shaking and progressive physical incapacity, is named after James Parkinson, an English doctor who in 1817 identified it for the first time. The Barlavento Algarve Hospital in Portimão and the Portuguese Parkinson’s Association (APDPk) will be co-hosting a seminar, addressed by prominent experts in the field, on April 11 at 11am in the hospital’s auditorium.
