DURING A security clampdown at an El Salvador jail, prison guards were surprised to find a hand grenade hidden up an inmate’s rectum.
The V40 grenade was part of an apparent ploy to escape from the San Francisco Gotera prison. In addition to the grenade, mobile phones were discovered inside 16 inmates after being swallowed. If the objects could not be expelled naturally, the men would have to have the objects surgically removed.
