AdC, Portugal’s competitions authority, has fined various private hospital groups operating in Portugal and their respective national association a total of €190 million for “fixing prices” when it came to the hiring of hospital services by the State for people covered under the ADSE regime (insurance for public sector workers). Entities fined are the APHP (Portuguese association of private hospitals) and hospital groups Trofa, HPA (Hospital Particular do Algarve), Mello, Lusíadas and Luz Saúde S.A. (Luz)
