Around 25 British residents from the village of Almadena near Lagos are searching for a choirmaster or musical director to help them form a local English language choir.
Phil Fisk, a member of the group, told the Algarve Resident: “We are part of the Amigos de Almadena group, which was formed by the Portuguese for us to be a part of the community.”
He added: “We want to start a choir and sang our first concert of Christmas carols for the Portuguese at the local community centre, but we need someone who can read music to help us.”
The group hopes to sing a mixture of music from modern to classic as well as carols at Christmas.
