The latest ‘disaster’ to have hit the country’s Commando course seems potentially connected to what the media calls “a culture of anabolic steroids” among young recruits. Expresso visits this possibility in a short text this week that says the Ministry of Defence is “awaiting the conclusions of an inquiry carried out by the Army” which “may explain the circumstances” in which six recruits collapsed during a ‘prova zero’ – one requiring a liver transplant.
