Colours of  the south

Following on from their successful open studio weekend last month which raised money for the Bom Samaritano children’s home in Alvor, artists Kerstin Wagner and David Trubshaw will be holding a joint exhibition at the convent in Lagoa starting tomorrow (Saturday).

The exhibition, entitled Colours of the South, will run until November 16 and will include a large selection of paintings from both artists depicting their individual styles.

Algarve and Alentejo coastline pictures, images of the Ria Formosa and other paintings of cloud formations, trees and forests are included in the exhibition of landscape and abstract art.

Kerstin Wagner is a professional German artist who came to Portugal in 1994 and has had more than 90 exhibitions across Europe.

She has developed her own special technique of using pure colour pigment powder resulting in a range of brilliant and vibrant colours.

David Trubshaw started painting again when he retired to the Algarve in 2004 and has perfected his skills under the guidance of Kerstin.

As a member of the Rotary Club of Silves, he and Kerstin have both again agreed to make a donation from the sale of their paintings to the Children’s Charity fund of the club.
