Intent on setting new standards for Fine Art in the Algarve, the large collective exhibition ARTE ALGARVE OPEN VII is to open on Saturday, March 9 at 3pm at the “wonderfully authentic” Única-Adega Cooperativa do Algarve in Lagoa.
More than 30 artists are participating in this ambitious project, such as Raffaele Rossi, who exhibited at the Venice Biennale, Louis la Rooy, a world-famous glass artist, abstract photographer Harry Klunder, Karin Vlieger, a Brazilian-German painter who specialises in depictions of exotic plants, and Vera Christians, doyenne of abstract painting.
Organisers Arte Algarve gallery, within the winery, said: “The artists are coming together to present their works in the unique ambience of Portugal’s largest private art gallery, spread across more than 1,400 square metres.”
Around 800 people attended the inauguration of the last collective OPEN VI in October 2012.
