Plunging temperatures taking a large part of the country to zero degrees have followed the all-too-brief brush with rain, thunder and lightening.
Forecasters are predicting more than a week of serious cold, after so many weeks where temperatures were higher than normal.
The added ‘downside’ is that with the cold, rain is staying away.
Portugal is still in a state of severe drought, and according to meteorologists we’re not getting out of it any day soon.
