Getting cooler
Following what is always a busy Christmas and New Year’s season, Baptista Supermarket in Luz closed its doors during the entire month of January for a complete refurbishment of its cold section. All the old commercial refrigerators and freezers were replaced by new, state-of-the-art equipment in a bid to provide clients with the freshest products. The delicatessen section of the supermarket also benefited from the changes, with a cooler, more modern display of its extravagant range of cold meats.
According to owner Rui Baptista, the timing was also right for a layout change inside the supermarket, with the relocation of the fruit aisles and bakery area providing clients with an improved overall flow. “It’s not a huge revamp, but it will definitely improve things,” he said.
