Heavy rains affected carnival across the region this year, with schools being forced to cancel parades on February 12 and Loulé Câmara cancelling their Monday afternoon parade.
According to Loulé Câmara, a total of 55,000 people took to the streets to watch the carnival parades in the city centre on Sunday and Tuesday, despite the bad weather.
Across Portugal, many parades went ahead as planned throughout the weekend until Tuesday despite the weather.
