Investigating the unusually heavy expenses of the town’s former Socialist administration, Loures’ Court of Auditors has discovered that just in coffee capsules, the council claimed over €40,000 over three mandates.
Mobile phone costs soared to over €8 million – that’s more than €680,000 per year.
Current mayor Bernardino Soares has found paper trails pointing to bogus foreign travel and misuse of municipal vehicles, reports Correio da Manhã newspaper.
The investigation is continuing.
