Cobweb sculpture scoops award

An enormous spider sitting in a web created by Czech sculptor Jakub Zimacek has been voted as the best sand sculpture at the 2011 Fiesa International Sand Sculpture Festival by visiting members of the public.

The spider web piece is one of the largest on the site and was voted as the best piece this year while another sculpture by the same artist, entitled Madagascar, was voted as the second most popular piece.

The Fiesa festival is now only open to the public until 8pm each day and will continue until the closing date of October 15.
