Coastal watch

Portugal’s ministry of internal affairs has given 25.5 million euros to the Portuguese branch of Spanish company Indra to supply and install an integrated coastal vigilance system.

This system will include fixed and movable radars to be places throughout Portugal’s coastline, which will reinforce the security in national waters.

The coastal control unit of the GNR police will be responsible for managing the control centre, Comando de Controlo da Costa Portuguesa (SIVICC), once this is set up.
