Recognising the importance of Carvoeiro as a popular tourist destination, the local parish council has announced a number of coastal cleanups to ensure the village is kept looking its best for visitors holidaying in the area.
Rubbish bins throughout the village fill up quickly in the high season, thus the Union of Parishes of Lagoa and Carvoeiro has assured that waste will be collected more frequently, while cliff-tops and coastal hotspots will also be cleared of litter regularly.
Two council workers have been hired for this purpose while the parish council calls on residents and tourists alike to help keep the village clean and dispose of waste responsibly.
