A clown, known as Grumpy, has received more than 1.3 million votes during elections in Brazil and will now take his place in government.
Grumpy caught the attention of disillusioned voters with his campaign slogan “It can’t get any worse” and his promise to do nothing more while in government than to report back to the people about how politicians spend their time.
“What does a politician do? The truth is I don’t know, but vote for me and I’ll tell you,” said the 45-year old clown, who appears in public wearing a blonde wig and red hat.
