Classical musical performances

The Centro Cultural São Lourenço is staging two classical music concerts by the Sinaiski Trio on September 14 and 17 from 7.30pm.

The trio, Nadezhda Korshakova (violin), Kirill Timofeev (cello), and Evgeni Sinaiski (piano), will play songs from composers Schubert, Suk, Dvorak, Haydn, Brahms, Pärt, Schostakovich and Piazzolla.

All three were born in St Petersburg, Russia, and are very well recognised musicians in the classical music genre.

Nadezhda Korshakova started to play the violin aged four. She is considered one of the best interpreters of Dvorak’s and Prokovfiev’s 2nd sonata for violin. She is a member of the Zurich Opera Orchestra.

Evgeni Sinaiski has won prizes in several competitions, such as for young pianists in Riga in 1984 and 1998. He performed for the first time aged 10 and since then has performed in the most famous venues in Russia, Europe and the United States. He teaches and plays in master classes and Festivals such as the Altensteiger Musiksommer and the Salzburger Festspiele.  

Kirill Timofeev won several prizes as soloist and as chamber musician. With his piano trio he won first prize at the Caltanissetta Chamber Music Contest in Italy. Besides his activity as soloist, he performs regularly with the Voronezh and the Mariinsky Theater Orchestras (St. Petersburg).

Kirill has also been invited to many music festivals in Germany, France, Switzerland, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Sweden, Brazil and the US.
