THE DELIGHTFUL sound of a cello being played by musician Ana Moura enchanted more than seven dozen babies last Saturday at Olhão’s Municipal Auditorium.
The mini-concert was the second in a series of recitals entitled ‘Música de Pais para Filhos’, parents’ music for children, an initiative from Olhão Câmara and Associação Cultural Música XXI. The concerts, which are open to babies of up to two years of age and an accompanying parent, are growing in popularity every month and are set to continue until the end of December.
The next concert will be dedicated to the accordion and will take place on May 28. June 25 will see Fernando Ponte demonstrate the secrets of the guitar and Inês Rosa will be playing the flute on September 17. Double bass is the theme on October 22 with José Alegre, and it will be time to hear the sound of the trumpet on November 26. This year’s concerts will end with a violin session, hosted by Rui Gonçalves.
