Circulatory diseases kill 85 people every day in Portugal

With World Heart Day celebrated today, health chiefs have once again sounded the alert over Portugal’s salt intake. Circulatory diseases are killing an average of 85 people every day in Portugal, stresses the DGS (health department) and over 42% of Portuguese suffer from high blood pressure. The salt in people’s diets is often to blame, reports Observador website, saying low salt, low fat diets and exercise are the answer.
