Cinema for all ages in Lagoa

Lagoa Auditorium is to show regular films on Fridays evenings as well as continuing with film sessions once a month for children.

This is the Câmara’s answer to “the lack of private cinemas in the region”.

The initiative started on February 15 with the film The Descendants and other recent cinema blockbusters will be shown throughout the year.

Friday films already scheduled include We Bought a Zoo (March 15), The Life of Pi (April 26), Moneyball (May 24), Lincoln (June 7), Argo (September 20), Trouble with the Curve (October 11) and Amour (November 29). Sessions start at 9pm.

Children, who already had the chance to watch films once a month on Sundays at 3pm and at 5pm, can now look forward to the following films this year: Sammy’s Adventures (February 24), Zambezia (April 28), Alpha and Omega (May 26), Hotel Transylvania (June 30), The Croods (September 29), Hoodwinked Too! Hood vs. Evil (October 27), EPIC (November 24) and Justin (December 15).

Outdoor cinema sessions in the summer have also been announced. Rock of Ages will be shown on August 10 in Ferragudo and on August 11 in Carvoeiro, both at 10pm.

From October, the auditorium will also be holding film sessions for senior viewers. Dates and locations have not yet been announced.

Tickets cost €3.5 for the Friday sessions and €3 for the children’s session on Sunday.
