DarDeVaia organises second cultural tour
Cultural and social association, DarDeVaia, is organising its second cultural tour on March 12, called ‘Churches – Signs of Faith in the Algarve’, which will start at the casino in Armação de Pêra at 9pm. Participants will have the opportunity to visit Faro and Silves cathedrals, accompanied by experts who will explain the historical and religious characteristics of the buildings. Subjects such as history, literature and gastronomy will be discussed on the day and there will be a chance to enjoy a traditional lunch and music by the Silves Philharmonic Society at Silves Cathedral. The first of these cultural tours took place last year and the theme was the almond tree. Those interested in participating in this year’s tour should contact DarDeVaia before March 1. First photographic marathon in March
DarDeVaia’s 1st Photographic Marathon is taking place on March 12 and the theme will be ‘Signs of Faith’. The event will start at the casino in Armação de Pêra at 9am and will involve a pre-defined route which participants will need to follow and take photographs related to the theme along the way. The photographic material will then be exhibited at the casino. There will be money prizes for the first three winners from each of the different categories. The youngest and oldest contestants will also be awarded with special prizes. A prize-giving ceremony will be held on March 18 and will include dinner.
