A CHURCH organ from the Igreja do Carmo in Tavira, which dates from the end of the 19th century, is to be restored at a cost of 105,000 euros.
Master organ builder Dinarte Machado will carry out the work. After the organ has been restored, it will be moved to a different location inside the church, allowing for better acoustic sound and visibility.
This work is part of a larger restoration project costing around 225,000 euros to conserve Tavira’s culture and heritage.
