A total of “137 kilos of clothes and 80 kilos of food” were raised during a charity walk designed to give people supported by Portimão-based association Grato a “happier Christmas”.
Nearly 50 people took part in the walk, held on Saturday (December 5), while another 20 people collected donations and handed out snacks.
“The overview of this event is positive, mostly due to the donations we received and the people who helped bring this charity event to life,” joint organiser biological grocers Mercearia Bio said in a statement. Thus the walk – conceived with Cross Arade, with the support of Portimão council, Sines and Algarve ports authority and Portimão Marina – is set to return next year.
