Loulé Câmara will be distributing 2,000 Christmas hampers to needy families across the council between December 14 and 21.
The hampers contain a variety of food items, including cod, olive oil, cheese, milk, chick peas, beans and traditional Portuguese Christmas cake Bolo Rei, among others.
According to a statement from Loulé Câmara, the hampers “will contribute to filling the table on Christmas Eve, a night that is special for the whole community, during which values such as solidarity and brotherhood have even greater significance”.
