A large quantity of food items and alcoholic beverages, worth an estimated €20,000, was stolen by a gang of hooded raiders from the Alisuper supermarket in Praia de Galé, Albufeira during the early hours of Christmas Eve. The gang tied a rope from their Fiat Uno car to the supermarket entrance door in order to forcibly wrench it open and, despite security alarms sounding, calmly loaded their loot and made their getaway, reported Correio da Manhã. Police are investigating the break-in.
