Have a dip in the ocean this festive season and help raise much-needed funds for local needy children. Armação de Pêra beach is again preparing for two charity swims – on Christmas Day and then on New Year’s Day, with the fun starting at 11am.
Take your swimwear and towel and go in for a swim or just a paddle – as long as a part of you gets wet – to raise funds for charities Espaço Amigo in Armação de Pêra and A Gaivota in Albufeira. You can then recover at the nearby Holiday Inn hotel bar and enjoy a Hot Bomba on Christmas Day or a Hot Chocolate on New Year’s Day.
As has become tradition over the past 12 years that the charity swims have been held, organisers ask participants to come in a Santa Suit on Christmas Day and in pyjamas on New Year’s Day.
Adults and children are all welcome to take part on the understanding that they do so at their own risk.
