A Christmas fundraising party to benefit local causes took place in the gardens of David and Linda Grindleys’ house on December 10.
The evening raised more than €2,800 for Casa do Povo in Estoi and the Algoz school for the autistic.
Stalls selling cakes, table decorations, crafts, wines and chestnuts created the atmosphere of an evening festive market, while the garden was set up with tables and chairs, fairy lights and a Christmas tree.
The entertainment was provided by The Angels Theatre Group, with the ‘Angels in the Park’ show.
Cleftomania sang a rendition of Have Yourselves A Merry Christmas and Coventry Carol and the finale saw the whole audience and cast competing for the best rendition of The Twelve Days of Christmas.
The Angels are next performing on December 17 at Mesa do Chefe in Peral, São Brás de Alportel. Christmas meal and entertainment cost €20 per person.
