Christmas cheer returns to Ferragudo, Lagoa and Carvoeiro

Ferragudo, Lagoa and Carvoeiro have announced the return of their Christmas fairs in December and encourage exhibitors to reserve their stands at the events as soon as possible.

The first event will be Ferragudo’s popular fair Artenata on the first weekend of December (3-4).

Featuring an average of around 50 Algarve-based exhibitors, the event is held every year in the main Rainha D. Leonor square and nearby streets.

There will be a few novelties this year, such as a nativity display exhibition and choirs performing Christmas carols at the local church.

Visitors can also enjoy the usual selection of regional handicrafts, sweets, wines and liqueurs.

The fair will begin on Saturday, December 3 at 10am and will come to a close the following day at 7pm.

The following event will be Lagoa’s Christmas fair, taking place between Thursday, December 8 and Sunday, December 11 in front of the municipal auditorium.

It will feature the performance of a live nativity display, which last year was considered the event’s stand-out attraction with historical reenactments of the birth of Jesus Christ and the search for a stable, as well as the visit of the Wise Men.

Festivities will end in Carvoeiro, which will host its Christmas fair between Friday, December 16 and Sunday, December 18 in the square in front of the beach.

Anyone who would like to be an exhibitor at the events should sign up before November 18, organisers say.
