Members of the Rotary Club Silves organised two fundraising events to help the children of the Bom Samaritano Children’s Home in Alvor.
The first was an open studio organised by David Trubshaw, a member and artist, and art works sold raised money to purchase 31 winter duvets and 31 pairs of pyjamas, one for each youngster.
David said he was pleased this would ensure the children would be “extra warm and snug in their beds this Christmas”.
The second event, held on November 27, was a sponsored charity walk organised by two Rotarian members, Ann Lancaster and Ivan Ellison.
Ann and Ivan said they were delighted by the response and generosity of walkers and sponsors.
To date, over €2,000 has been raised with more donations still arriving.
