Term ended at Vale Verde International School in Montinhos da Luz with an array of musical entertainment given by the students to celebrate Christmas.
A musical entitled Baboushka, inspired by a Russian interpretation of the Christmas story, was performed by the junior department students and was directed by Nadia Mack.
Roger Foreman, headmaster of VVIS, told the Algarve Resident: “Playing to an audience of parents, friends and older students, the young cast delighted all present with its obvious enjoyment, confidence and accuracy both in acting and singing.”
On December 17, the secondary department organised an evening of carols and a variety of festive music in the school theatre.
Alice Millward performed Silent Night and large ensemble pieces were performed by a 60-strong choir with full band accompaniment. There was also a cello solo by Emilie Bragginton.
The Students Council also organised a musical talent show for the last day of term on December 18.
