Christmas carol concert in Lagoa

Students from the International School of the Algarve entered into the festive spirit on December 10 with a Christmas carol concert held in Lagoa church.

The event, which has now become a firm fixture on the events calendar for the school in Porches, involved more than 150 students from both the National and International sections of the school with pupils singing Christmas songs from different countries.

The concert was led by the senior choir of the school with members of the congregation, which was made up of parents, friends, teachers and members of the local community, joining in the carol singing.

Head teacher John Butterworth said: “Music lessons at the school are timetabled in such a way that the national and international section students can practice together in the run up to major events such as this concert.”

He added: “Thanks and congratulations to all the students as well as their musical directors Gita Nasta and Bruno Rodrigues and to Padré José Nunes for permission to use the church.”
