WHAT A better way to get all the family into the seasonal spirit than to come along to Barringtons Golf and Health Spa in Vale do Lobo, on Wednesday, December 21, for a Christmas concert by the Strings & Things Orchestra.
After a mulled wine reception and three course dinner, enjoy a stunning variety of new and traditional seasonal music and songs to usher in Christmas. At 9pm, the orchestra will be playing and singing a selection of popular Christmas Carols.
The Strings & Things Orchestra is made up of 12 talented children, aged between seven and 13, from the Howard Scott Parkin School of Music in Almancil. Howard, who produces and conducts the show, has been teaching music and performance in Almancil since 2000, first as a music and drama teacher at São Lourenço International School and now in his own music school and shop, Strings & Things.
Tickets cost 29 euros per person and include dinner (at 7pm) and concert (at 9pm). To make your reservation, call Barringtons on 289 351 940.
More Christmas fun…
On Christmas Eve, join Robin, one of the resident PGA professionals at Barringtons, on the 18-hole putting green for an afternoon of games. He is looking for adults and children to take part in a Texas Scramble putting competition. Register your name and Barringtons will make up mixed teams depending upon people’s ages and abilities. The competition begins at 3pm and finishes with a prize-giving complete with mulled wine and mince pies.
Another way to keep you away from the television this Christmas is to come along to Barringtons’ festive quiz nights on Boxing Day and Friday, December 30, from 8.30pm. Entry is free for both festive events, taking place at Barringtons’ Bistro. Come along, make up a team and put your thinking caps on.
To enter any of these competitions, call Barringtons on 289 351 940.
