Christmas arrives early at Forum Algarve!

Santa will arrive in style at Forum Algarve in Faro on Saturday (November 12) to mark the start of Christmas celebrations at the shopping centre’s central plaza.

The parade will begin at 11am and will see Santa arrive alongside Mrs. Claus and several friends, including Gui – the main character from a series of books going by the name ‘Livro do Gui’ (Gui’s Book).

The latest book, entitled ‘À Descoberta de Portugal’, will be the inspiration for this year’s Christmas Village, where some of Portugal’s most iconic monuments will be recreated. Santa will also be taking some time off to meet younger visitors.

Also making a return is Forum Algarve’s ice rink, a favourite among Christmas time visitors.

Meanwhile, this year’s ‘Livro do Gui’ will be a treat for collectors. Each edition will be handed out with a map of Portugal, with the goal being to collect every monument and important character from Portugal’s history. Each weekend a different set of monuments and characters will be handed out for free (but limited to the available stock).

The shopping centre will also be promoting creativity among local schools, which were given maps of Portugal measuring 1.50m in height to be decorated by students. Visitors will be able to visit the exhibition and vote for their favourites. Those with the most votes will receive prizes.

Forum Algarve adds that the timetables for the Christmas entertainment will be updated daily on its website (www.forumalgarve.net) and Facebook and Instagram pages (search for ‘Forum Algarve’).
