THE CHARITY which runs the Pirilampos children’s home in Albufeira is appealing for funds to help pay for a new mini-bus.
Santa Casa de Misericordia de Albufeira currently uses a 15-year-old bus to transport children to crèche, school, remedial lessons and outings but, due to the new laws governing child transportation (see page 10 of The Resident), the bus will no longer be roadworthy.
A new bus has been ordered and will be arriving before Christmas. So far, 50 per cent of the cost has been secured in donations and promises, but Santa Casa desperately needs help with the last 50 per cent.
