QUERENÇA will once again hold its traditional ‘Festa das Chouriças’ (Smoked Sausage Festival), one of the biggest gastronomy events in the Algarve’s interior, on Sunday, January 16. There will be a celebratory mass and a procession through Querença’s main streets to mark what is also a religious festival in honour of Saint Luís, the patron saint of animals. Music and entertainment will be provided at the event which attracts a large number of visitors to this beautiful village every year. Loulé Câmara hopes the event will be an opportunity to promote the region by helping tourists to discover its local traditions and rich gastronomy.
