In a chiropractic office, it is not rare to hear this statement: “I thought it would go away.”
Everyone has their own story on how they started to feel their health decline and how they dealt with it until their first visit to the chiropractor. And we were happy to help them get better. But what we are seeing even more regularly are those people that just want to improve or get better at something … they are not just hurt or injured, they simply want to get better at doing what they love – whether it is playing golf, running a marathon or just taking care of the garden.
The story of Mr Stevens is not such a rare one. The 58-year-old man consulted us three months ago complaining of low back and leg pain of one-and-a-half-year duration. He previously had had spinal surgery to remove the part of the herniated disc which had been causing pressure on his sciatic nerve. A year after the surgery, the symptoms returned, and he was still suffering with pain in his back and leg. Sadly, he could not drive his car or sleep properly and was feeling very depressed.
We got Mr Stevens under chiropractic care with adapted techniques because of the previous surgery he had to his spine. There are more than a hundred different techniques in chiropractic that can be used to help remove nerve interference. After just a few weeks, we could see in Mr Stevens’ facial expression how much better he was getting. He started smiling and chatting a lot more, he was glowing.
As his wife was seeing such good results with her husband, she also started chiropractic care, simply to get her body into better health. She understands how important it is to have her spine’s mobility restored in order to have the energy from her brain to the rest of her body flow properly.
Mrs Stevens has always been very active and loves playing golf. After the very first adjustment, she noted much better mobility in her spine and, after a few weeks, she says she noted a big improvement in her golf swing.
Last week Mrs Stevens came in for her adjustment and she was delighted to tell us that, for the first time in many months, her husband had taken his own car to run errands, which had left her the freedom to do her own activities. She was so happy to see her husband getting his life back and grateful to get hers back too.
Better health, more energy and vitality are some of the side effects of getting your spine adjusted. It sets your vertebrae back into motion freeing up the energy that travels through your nerves.
It doesn’t matter if you have a recent back or neck injury or have been dealing with chronic pain, chiropractic adjustments can provide quick, noticeable relief. They can even help reduce pain and restore mobility in your spine, shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees and feet.
So if you have back or neck pain, you don’t sleep well or you tweaked your shoulder, sprained your ankle, or are dealing with numbness in your hands or other issues, consider chiropractic for a non-invasive way to reduce pain and get back to full strength faster. And if you feel good and want to improve your flexibility or you want to improve your performance in your favourite sport, chiropractic care is for you too.
