Canadian-qualified chiropractors Gary Squires and his partner Jillian Spencer have taken over the management of Lagoa-based Lutz Quiroprática wellness centre from its previous owner Tracy Bown.
Gary Squires told the Algarve Resident: “Jillian came to work at Lutz Quiroprática in September last year after graduating in Canada and we decided to take over the business fully last month.”
He added that chiropractic is a natural way of healing, which, according to recent scientific studies, is the best method for neck and lower back pain.
“Jillian and I are doctors who specialise in the neuro-muscular skeletal system, treating the entire body from head to toe. We treat the problem without the use of medication or surgery,” he said.
Gary and Jillian are keen to educate their patients about adequate back care to help prevent recurring problems and better understand their bodies.
“Explaining the process to patients means they are more confident and can better communicate symptoms to us,” he said. “We also have experience with rehabilitation and sports injuries.”
Although the wellness centre is under new management, both friendly and professional front desk staff Miriam Diogo and Cristina Pascher continue to serve clients as well as the massage therapist Guida do Ó.
Lutz Quiroprática, which is open Monday to Thursday from 8am until 1pm and 3pm until 8pm, Friday mornings and the first Saturday of the month from 9am until 1pm, is located at the Parque Empresarial do Algarve, n°8 – first floor in Lagoa.
