Chinese pharmaceutical company Ascletis Pharma inc has presented requests for the commercialisation in various countries, Portugal included, of ritonavir – an antiviral used in the combat of Covid-19. Ritonavir is a component of Paxlovid, the antiviral of Pfizer already approved to treat serious illness connected to Covid-19m, writes Lusa. A little over a week ago, DGS health director Graça Freitas said Portugal would be purchasing Paxlovid, “without confirming quantities and when it would be available in this country”, adds the State news agency.
