Chinese enjoy Portuguese wine

The Regional Wine Commission (CVR) has revealed that an increasing number of Chinese are purchasing wines from the Lisbon region.

On average, around 400,000 bottles of wine from Vinhos de Lisboa producers are exported to China every year, representing 1% of the  production and €1 million annual profit. Vasco Avillez, president of CVR, said: “External consumption has increased exceptionally in China, a region where consumers don’t really have the habit of drinking wine.”
