Children’s transport safety

TWO PEOPLE carriers, to transport children to school, have been acquired by Alcoutim Câmara.

The nine-seater vans were allocated to the area as part of a wider campaign to ensure children’s safety by improving the school transport network.

The vehicles will replace older ones and are equipped with seatbelts in every chair, automatic locks controlled by the driver, fire extinguishers, first aid kits and car seats for children in pre-school.

Since April 2006, it has been a legal requirement to have seatbelts and a number of other requirements for child safety.
