Children create world’s biggest finger painting

Thousands of children have been celebrating after breaking the world record for the biggest finger painting ever created.

Around 3,000 children gathered at Belfast Zoo to break the record with a massive canvas measuring 22,496.5 sq ft Two adjudicators will examine the painting that is approved by the Guinness World Record. The event was organised by the Northern Ireland Child Minding Association to mark its 25th anniversary.

The record was previously set in Austria in 2007 and measured 699 sq ft less than the new masterpiece.

The central image featured in the masterpiece is of a house to symbolise the home-based care offered by child minders.
