Representatives from the International School São Lourenço and Faro Hospital each received a cheque for 14,000 euros from the fundraisers of a Spinathon held in January.
The presentation was held at the Four Seasons Country Club in Quinta do Lago on February 24, with head teacher of the International School São Lourenço, Terry McGuire and the head of paediatrics from Faro Hospital, Doctor Maio both attending the event.
Meg Manson, one of the event organisers, said: “There was a great atmosphere throughout the event and we never imagined we would raise so much money.”
